Why CaeDia carries this
This isn't a campaign.
It's the reason we exist.
Most food brands pick a cause because it looks good. CaeDia carries these three because we have no choice. Diabetes runs in our family. Pancreatic cancer took our father. BRCA2 is something our founder wakes up knowing she carries every single day.
When CaeDia talks about these conditions, we are not speaking from the outside. We are speaking from inside the story. And we believe the people who know these battles best are exactly the ones who should be feeding and advocating for the community living them.
"My father loved food more than anything. His health battles were intertwined with that love in a way no one helped him navigate. I carry his conditions. I carry his love of food. And I carry the responsibility to build something that could have helped him — for every person whose story sounds like his."
— Michaela, Founder of CaeDia
Diabetes Awareness
My story & his story
You shouldn't have to choose between the food you love and the body you're protecting.
Diabetes is one of the most misunderstood chronic conditions in America — and one of the most isolating. People living with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes are told constantly what they cannot eat. CaeDia was built to flip that. Every recipe is designed with blood sugar management as a foundation, not an afterthought.
Our founder was born into a family where diabetes was part of the story. She carries it. Her father carried it. And she watched how the lack of accessible, joyful resources for people with diabetes shaped his relationship with food in ways that ultimately cost him.
"Every CaeDia recipe is an answer to the question my father never got a good answer to: how do you eat well when your body asks so much of you?"

Pancreatic Cancer Awareness
His story
In memory of the man who taught me that feeding people is an act of love.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the most devastating and least-funded cancers in the United States. It is often diagnosed late, moves quickly, and takes people before anyone is ready. It took our father.
CaeDia dedicates a portion of every purchase to pancreatic cancer awareness and research — because we know what it costs to lose someone to this disease, and we refuse to stay quiet about it. Every cookbook sold is a small act of advocacy in his name.
"He never got to see what good resources could have done for him. CaeDia exists in part to make sure other families have more time, more tools, and more hope than we did."

BRCA2 & Breast Cancer Awareness
My story
Knowing your risk isn't a burden. It's a power most women are never given.
The BRCA2 genetic mutation significantly raises a woman's risk for breast and ovarian cancer. Our founder carries it. Living with that knowledge means making decisions most women never have to think about — and doing it without nearly enough community or support.
CaeDia uses its platform to amplify BRCA2 awareness because most women who carry this mutation don't know it. Early detection and genetic testing save lives — but only if people know to ask. We're asking on their behalf.
A decision I made for my life
"I opted for a preventative double mastectomy. It was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made — and one of the most empowering."
Knowing my BRCA2 status gave me the information to act before cancer could. CaeDia exists to help people make informed, empowered decisions about their health — whether that's what they eat, what they ask their doctor, or what they choose for their body. Food is one powerful tool. It is not the only one. And we will never pretend otherwise.
"I want every woman who carries BRCA2 to know she is not alone in the weight of that knowledge — or in the courage it takes to act on it."
A holistic approach to health — what CaeDia believes
Food is powerful — what you eat shapes your body's environment and can support risk reduction.
Food is not a cure — some health decisions require medicine, surgery, and the guidance of trusted doctors.
Knowledge is everything — get tested, know your numbers, ask the hard questions.
You are not alone — CaeDia is a community, not just a cookbook.
