Our mission
"To feed people whose story includes illness — and to honor the ones we've lost to the same battles we're still fighting."
CaeDia exists at the intersection of real food, real health, and real grief. We create recipes that are blood sugar conscious, culturally rooted, and built for people navigating diabetes, cancer risk, and chronic illness — without asking them to trade the pleasure of eating for the protection of their body. We also carry a responsibility to raise awareness for the health battles that shape our community, because feeding people and advocating for them are the same act of love.
Nourish
Food that works for your body
Every recipe is designed with blood sugar management and whole-body health in mind — without asking you to give up the joy of eating.
Honor
The people behind the brand
Every dish carries the memory of a father who loved food — and a daughter who built something worthy of that love.
Amplify
Awareness for what matters
Diabetes. Pancreatic cancer. Breast cancer and BRCA2. CaeDia uses its platform to advocate, educate, and give back.
What the name means
CaeDia isn't a brand name. It's a declaration.
The name comes from Michaela Diamonique — the founder's full name, meaning "one who is like God" and "a gift from God." Tucked inside is Dia — for diabetes, the part of her story she was born into and the one that shaped everything. The name is not a logo. It is an identity, a health journey, a faith, and a father — all held inside one word.
Cae
From Michaela
One who is like God
The root of the founder's name — her identity, her faith, and the belief that she was placed here with a purpose bigger than herself.
Dia
From Diamonique · and Diabetes
A gift from God · and a story to carry
Dia honors both halves — the beauty of her full name and the reality of living with diabetes. Her story is not hidden here. It is named.
CaeDia
A gift from God, made like God, carrying a story that runs in the family — and building something beautiful from all of it.
His memory lives in every letter.
The founder
I am my father's daughter in every way — including the parts of his story I now carry in mine.
My name is Michaela. I am a project manager by profession, a woman of faith by foundation, and someone whose health journey includes diabetes and the BRCA2 genetic mutation. I didn't choose these chapters. But I chose what to write next.
I grew up watching my father love food with his whole self. It wasn't just eating — it was how he celebrated, how he connected, how he showed love. Food was the most joyful thing about him. And in the end, the intersection of that love with his illness took him from us too soon.
I carry his conditions. I carry his love of food. And I carry the question he never got a good answer to: how do you eat the way you love when your body needs something different? CaeDia is that answer. For him. For me. For everyone whose story sounds like ours.
Health journeys I live with and advocate for
Diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2)
Every CaeDia recipe is built with blood sugar management as a design principle — not a limitation. Real food, real flavor, made to work for your life.
My story
BRCA2 and Breast Cancer
As a BRCA2 carrier who opted for a preventative double mastectomy, I know that food is one powerful tool — and not the only one. CaeDia advocates for the full picture of women's health.
My story
Pancreatic Cancer
In memory of my father, and in solidarity with the families still fighting — CaeDia dedicates awareness and resources to pancreatic cancer research and support.
His story
My father
He loved food more than anything.
And food was part of what took him.
My father had an extraordinary love for eating. Not just for sustenance — for the experience of it. The flavors, the table, the people around it. Food was how he moved through the world and how he made everyone around him feel loved.
But his health journey and the illness that ultimately took his life were tangled up with that love in a way no one helped him navigate. There was no resource built for someone like him — someone who needed to eat differently but refused to eat joylessly. Someone whose story deserved better options than what existed.
CaeDia is what I wish he'd had. And his name — his memory, his laugh, his table — lives inside every recipe I will ever write.
"I built CaeDia so that the people who love food the way my father did — with their whole hearts — would never have to choose between the food they love and the body they need to protect."
— Michaela, Founder of CaeDia
Where we're going
This is only the beginning.
CaeDia started as a cookbook. But the vision has always been bigger than recipes. We are building a brand, a community, a platform, and eventually a foundation — all rooted in the belief that people navigating health challenges deserve food, community, and advocacy at the same table.
I
The cookbook
75 wholesome, blood sugar conscious recipes. The first offering. The foundation everything else is built on.
II
The product line
Spice blends, sauces, and pantry staples for people who cook intentionally. On shelves. In homes. Nationally.
III
The foundation
In his name. Funding awareness, research, and community for diabetes, pancreatic cancer, and BRCA2. The legacy that outlives us both.
Your story deserves a full table.
The CaeDia cookbook is where it starts. 75 recipes for people who refuse to let their health journey be the last word on what they get to eat.
